Your rights under UK GDPR
If you've subscribed to our newsletter or interacted with our website, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
Right of access
You can ask for a copy of all personal data we hold about you. We'll provide this free of charge within 30 days, in a clear and accessible format.
Right to rectification
If any of the data we hold about you is inaccurate or incomplete, you can ask us to correct it.
Right to erasure (right to be forgotten)
You can ask us to delete your personal data. We'll do this within 30 days, unless we're required by law to retain certain records (e.g. payment records for HMRC).
Right to restrict processing
You can ask us to limit how we use your data — for example, to stop sending you the newsletter while keeping your account active.
Right to data portability
You can ask for your personal data in a portable, machine-readable format (CSV or JSON) so you can transfer it to another service.
Right to object
You can object to certain types of data processing, including processing based on legitimate interests.
Right to withdraw consent
Where we rely on your consent (e.g. for the newsletter), you can withdraw it at any time. The simplest way is to click "unsubscribe" in any email — that removes you within 7 days.
Rights related to automated decision-making
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. Our analytics are aggregated and not used to make individual decisions.
How to exercise your rights
To exercise any of your rights, email us at contact@realtradeguard.co.uk with:
- The right you want to exercise (e.g. "request access" or "delete my data")
- The email address associated with your subscription
- Any specific details (e.g. which data you want corrected)
We may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests — typically by confirming your email address.
Response time: within 30 calendar days. Free of charge for reasonable requests. We may charge a reasonable fee or refuse only if a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.
Quick actions
For common requests, you can act directly without contacting us:
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter: click the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any email — one click, immediate effect
- Cancel a paid subscription: log into your Stripe customer portal (link in your purchase confirmation email)
- Disable analytics: use your browser's "Do Not Track" setting or block cookies for our site
How we keep your data secure
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal data:
- All data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections
- We use reputable third-party providers (Beehiiv, Stripe, Netlify) with strong security practices
- Access to subscriber data is limited to the data controller (Viktorija Skobej)
- We do not store payment card details ourselves — Stripe handles all payments
- We review our security practices regularly
Data breaches
If a data breach occurs that's likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we'll:
- Notify the ICO within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach
- Notify affected individuals without undue delay if there's a high risk
- Document the breach, its effects, and remedial action taken
International data transfers
Some of our service providers (e.g. Beehiiv, Stripe) are based in the United States. When your data is transferred outside the UK, it's protected by:
- Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission
- UK adequacy decisions where applicable
- The providers' compliance with international privacy frameworks
Children's data
Our service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe we have collected data from a child, contact us immediately at contact@realtradeguard.co.uk and we'll delete it.
Making a complaint
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data:
Step 1: Contact us first at contact@realtradeguard.co.uk. We aim to resolve concerns quickly and informally.
Step 2: If you're not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office:
